From 10 to 12 April 2026, the Château d'Ars will host the 3rd edition of the Journées Européennes des Métiers d'Art in La Châtre, organised by the City of La Châtre and the Chambre des Métiers et de l'Artisat Centre-Val de Loire.

For three days, this event will highlight the craftsmanship of excellence through exhibitions, live demonstrations and meetings with artisans from across the region and beyond

In the exceptional setting of the Château d'Ars, visitors will be able to discover various professions: sculpture, ceramics, jewellery, heritage restoration, stained glass, cabinetmaking and many other disciplines that illustrate the richness of French artisanal heritage.

A Cultural and Living Rendez-vous After the success of previous editions, this new program aims to further increase the visibility of the art professions in the territory of the Black Valley.

The Participatory workshops for schools will complement the event to raise awareness among younger generations about the transmission of know-how.

The official inauguration of the European Days of Trades d'Art at the Château d'Ars will take place on Saturday 11 April 2026 at 6 p.m., in the presence of Mr Nicolas FORISSIER – Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Attraction, Mr Thibault LANXADE – Prefect of Indre and Mr Stéphane PARRAIN – President of the Réseau Excellence Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant Centre-Val de Loire.

On this occasion, Mr. Le Préfet will award the certificates of the Enterprise du Patrimoine Vivant (E.P.V) label to the following companies:

  • SARL Jourdant et Fils – Renewal of the E.P.V label;
  • Lighting Roger Pradier – Renewal of the E.P.V label;
  • Coliege Metalco Emballages – Labelling.
