The history of the Marcel Carbonel Workshops begins at the dawn of the 20th century.

From 1935, Les Ateliers Marcel Carbonel will bring to light the popular art Provençal des santons everywhere in France, then in many European countries, in North America and in Japan from the 1950s. The Ateliers Marcel Carbonel work in a artisanal way, all the colours (gouache) are made in the workshop from pigments and arabic gum. The mixtures are then made to create the different colors that give such a characteristic appearance to the santons of their home.
