DE LEEUW Guitars

Luthier d'art - manufacturer of electric guitars

From Leeuwrecord the electric guitar in the French tradition of the instrumental bill. Guitars and basses entirely hand carved.

For four centuries, France has carried wood to the rank of art, from cabinetmaking to instrumental bills. Of all the wooden instruments, the electric guitar is the only one born of an industrial design: assembly, not carved. She grew up away from this tradition. Leeuw exists to bring him in.

In our workshop in Pont-Sainte-Maxence, each instrument is entirely hand carved, without any digital machine, from the walnut and maple logs to the finished instrument. Art cabinet, straw and wood marquetry, ornamental sculpture, lutherie: four disciplines combined in one hand, that of Quentin De Leeuw, Master Artisan. Three to four months of work per instrument.

Winner of the Grand Exposition du Made in France 2025, De Leeuw presented his Nina Air in straw marquetry on the presidential podium at the Palais de l'Élysée. Certified Origin France Guarantee and labeled Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant, the workshop was selected by Paulin, Paulin, Paulin to equip the studio with their exhibition Mise-en-scène at Galerie Hauser & Wirth Monaco. Our instruments equip Miraval Studios and play in the hands of Pete Jonas (Suki Waterhouse), Johan Papaconstantino or Alexandre Carruana (Gipsy Kings by André Reyes).
